Physicians working in Rajshahi staged demonstration in front of the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the city on Saturday demanding arrest of those involved in killing their fellow Dr Golam Kazi Ali Ahmed on October 29 night.
Doctors under the banner of Bangladesh Medical Association, Rajshahi staged the one-hour demonstration from 11am to 12noon in front the RMCH.
Speakers at the programme they alleged that law enforcers have failed to arrest the killers of their fellow though six days had already been passed. In this situation, they expressed their concerns for their safety.
Earlier, unidentified people reportedly stabbed Dr Golam Kazi Ali Ahmed, 42, an assistant professor of dermatology at Shah Mokhdum Medical College and Hospital, to death while he was returning home by motorcycle after visiting patients at his private chamber at about 11:45pm on October 29.
On the same night, police also recovered the body of another village doctor namely Ershad Ali alias Dulal from Kachuatoil area in Rajshahi city, six hours after he was abducted by a group of miscreants.
Following the incidents, two separate cases were filed with Rajpara and Chandrima police stations.
However, none was identified and arrested in two of the cases till Saturday evening, the alleged.
