The authorities of Daffodil International University (DIU) in Savar's Ashulia branch have suspended the academic activities till November 16 following an unrest.
After a clash between the university students and locals in Ashulia's Changaon area on Sunday night, a tense situation is prevailing on Monday morning.
Following the clash incidents the authorities took the suspension decision for security purposes and confirmed this through a notice on Sunday night.
The university remained closed from November 6-16.

The students have been asked to leave the university hall as soon as possible. Several students were seen leaving the residential halls of the Daffodil International University.
On Sunday (November 5) night, at least three people were injured during a clash with the locals in the Changaon area.
The locals vandalised the academic building of the campus and threw brickbats at the students.
According to some local people and students, a student of the textile engineering department (4th year) of the university Hasibul Islam alias Antar, 22, was beaten to death by some local youths recently.
Following the death, the students of the university formed a human chain on the road adjacent to the campus on Sunday, demanding that all those involved in Antar's murder to be brought to book.
During this time, the students closed several shops in the Changaon area, and this angered the locals. The students also blocked some roads.
