At least 50 people were arrested for their involvement in cheating at assistant primary teachers' recruitment tests by using illegal electronic devices in Gaibandha and Lalmonirhat districts on Friday.
Among the arrested, five were identified as the masterminds of a fraud gang-- Maruf, Munna, Sohel, Nazrul, and Sohag while other 45 were examinees.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-13 conducted a raid in different exam centers in Gaibandha district town between 10:00am and 11:00am and arrested 37 people, said a press release issued by RAB-3 Media Cell.
The elite force members also seized 24 master cards, 20 bluetooth devices, 17 mobile phones, bank checks, and stamps from the detainees during their raid, the release read.
Meanwhile, Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Magistrate of Lalmonirhat district, said 13 people were arrested and three expelled in the district for their involvement in cheating at the test.
Process to file separate fraudulence cases against them is underway and then, they will be handed over to police, said the officials.
