BTF signs MoU with Saif Powertec

Bangladesh Tennis Federation (BTF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saif Powertec Ltd on Sunday for the development and expansion of tennis in the country. As per the deal, Saif Powertec Ltd will provide financial support of Taka one crore per annum for the overall development of the game through different initiatives.

The State Minister for Shipping and the President of BTF Khalid Mahmood Chowdhury and the Managing Director of Saif Powertec Ltd Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin was present on the occasion.  Engineer Abu Syed Mohammad Haider, the general secretary of BTF and Maj (Rtd) Farukh Ahmed Khan, the Executive Director of Said Powertec Ltd had signed the MoU for their respective organisations.

As per the deal, the focus will be given to organising Junior Tennis Tournament across the country, coaches Training and School Teachers Training Programs, District and Divisional Tennis Tournaments, Inter School Tennis Championship, and the Victory Day Tennis Tournament.

Hailing Saif Powertec, the State Minister said, "With the cooperation of Saif Powertec we will now focus upon the overall development of tennis across the country, Saif Powertec opened a new avenue towards tennis from the corporate sector and I hope others will be encouraged to do the same for the overall development of sports".

Emphasising supporting the sports sector, Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin said, "Without nurturing the grassroots no sports can develop and I hope the tennis federation will take effective measures to develop the game in the grassroots".
