Victory Day celebrated in districts

The Victory Day, the most precious day of the Bangalees, was celebrated in districts of the country with due dignity.

On December 16 in 1971, Bangladesh was born as an independent country under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the cost of supreme sacrifice of three million people and the honour of nearly half a million women.
Rangamati: The day was celebrated with 31 rounds of gunfire, wreath laying at Bangabandhu Mural and Shaheed Minar, and a discussion after sunrise at 6:20 am in Bilaichhari of the district.

Joypurhat: Victory day program started at 6:30 in the morning at the central Eidgah in Joypurhat with 31 gunshots. Various political, social and cultural organizations, educational institutions and other institutions offered floral tributes in memory of the martyrs at the Martyr Dr Abul Kashem Maidan.

At 8 am, a children's rally was held at the stadium. Deputy Commissioner Salehin Tanveer Gazi and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Noore Alam welcomed the Marching and at the end of the melodious display prizes were handed over to the winners and participating teams. Apart from this, Shishu Academy organized painting, patriotic song song and poetry recitation competitions for children.

Naogaon: In Porsha upazila, the day started with 31 gunshots and hoisting of the national flag at the Saraigachhi Mor Liberation War Monument premises at 6 am. After that, on behalf of Upazila Parishad and local administration, Upazila Parishad Chairman Principal Shah Manjur Morshed Chowdhury and UNO Shrabani Roy laid wreaths at the Liberation War Memorial.

At Gurdaspur in Natore district, Victory Day began with 31 rounds of gunfire along with various sunrises. After that, tributes were paid by placing wreaths at the martyred freedom fighter monument at the upazila square. Later, special prayers were offered.

A colorful parade and display exhibition was held at Gurdaspur Government Model Pilot High School ground at 8:30 am. At 12:30 pm, in the upazila zilla parishad auditorium, reception of freedom fighters and martyrs family members, discussion and prayers were held in different sub-halls for the departed souls of the martyred brave freedom fighters.

Dinajpur: The day was started by 31 rounds of gunfire on Hakimpur upazila parishad premises at 6:30 am. At 6:40 am, Wreath was laid at the Liberation War Monument. Then the national and party flags hoisted at the Upazila Awami League office, parade and display were held at Hakimpur Degree College ground.

In Panchagarh, the day began with 31 gunfires at sunrise. Later, deputy commissioner Zahurul Islam first laid a wreath at the martyred freedom fighter memorial at the collectorate square. After that, various individuals, social and political organizations and educational institutions placed wreaths. Later, a special prayer was offered for the souls of all the martyrs, including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and for the welfare of the nation.

Netrakona:
after 31 gunfires, floral tributes were placed at the Liberation War Monument of Upazila Parishad premises. Later, parade, painting and prize distribution were held at Purbadhala Jagatmani Government Pilot High School grounds with the participation of students from various educational institutions.
