Sabotage in Mohanganj Express as per Tuku's instruction: CTTC

Rail tracks in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila have been cut off as per the instruction of Jubo Dal leader Sultan Salauddin Tuku, said Md Asaduzzaman, chief additional police commissioner of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime's (CTTC) on Monday at a media press briefing.

Arrested Ikhtiar Rahman Kabir, Chhatra Dal former vice-president, was the mastermind of the incident and Imon Hossain, Gazipur Metropolitan ward no 24 Chhatra Dal president, was involved in the sabotage incident directly. Tuku gave permission to Kabir for the sabotage in 'Mohanganj Express' train.  
Police recovered some equipment, used for cutting rail lines, from Kabir and Imon.

Md Asaduzzaman disclosed the information at DMP's media centre in the morning.

"Tuku instructed Kabir to cut the rail tracks. As per the instruction, Kabir contacted with two Jubo Dal's leaders in Gazipur. One is Azim Uddin College's Chhatra Dal convenor Toha and another one is Gazipur Metropolitan Chhatra Dal's organising secretary Masum. Kabir gave the responsibility to Masum and Toha."

Md Asaduzzaman said in primary quizzing, Kabir confessed to his involvement in at least 10 sabotages since October 28. He also an accused in a murder case.

On December 13, five carriages of Mohanganj Express train derailed in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila as unidentified saboteurs cut off rail tracks. A man was killed and seven others were injured in the sabotage incident.
