A five-year-old child was killed after being hit by a microbus at Chatmohar upazila in
Pabna district on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Asia Khatun, 5, daughter of Shamim Hossain, a resident of Kukurgari village under the upazila.
Quoting locals, Chatmohar Police Station officer-in-charge Md Selim Reza said a running microbus ran over the girl when she was crossing the Chaikola-Chatmohar road around 8:00pm, leaving her critically injured.
She was taken to Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared her dead, he said.
The locals caught the microbus driver but he was later released because the victim's family did not file any case against him, the OC added.
