No casualties, however, were reported in the incident.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Sunil Chandra Sutradhar,  in-charge Airport Railway Police Outpost, said when the freight train reached the south side of Tongi Railway Bridge in the area, five coaches on the up line of the train suddenly derailed.

The railway rescuers team and police had taken quick initiatives for the smooth operations of the movement of trains on the down line, he added.
