Two people held with 124-kg hemp in Rajshahi

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in separate drives arrested two alleged drug-peddlers with 124 kilograms of hemp in Rajshahi town on Sunday night.
 
RAB sources said that the arrestees were Riad Islam alias Don, 30, son of  Rustam Ali and Muhammad Abdullah, 29, son of Liakat Ali, said here this noon.
 
They said acting on a tip-off, a RAB team conducted a raid in Naodapara area of the city around 8.30 pm and arrested Riad with 99 kilograms of hemp red-handed.
In another drive conducted in Bypass area under Belpukur Police Station, another team of the elite force arrested Abdullah with 25 kilograms of hemp red-handed around 7.30 pm.

Separate cases were lodged with the respective police stations in these connections and the arrestees with the seized contraband goods were handed over to the police.
