Shoriful, Mahedi leave NZ in tatters

Bangladesh all rounder Mahedi Hasan and left arm medium fast bowler Shoriful Islam struck four times within the first five overs as New Zealand were reduced to 20 for four in the first match of a three-match series against New Zealand at McLean Park, Napier on Wednesday.

Mahedi and Shariful both struck twice to crush New Zealand's top order within five over to reduce them only for 20 runs.
Earlier, Mahedi dislodged Black Cap's opener Tim Seifert's castle with one that spun a bit in the first over of the innings before Shoriful hit twice in two balls -- getting Fin Allen to edge one to Soumya Sarkar at first slip and then getting Glenn Phillips, who shouldered arms, trapped right in front. After that, Mahedi struck one again and sent Daryl Mitchell to the pavillion.
