At least 40 people, including two Indians, were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck on the Satkhira-Khulna highway at Tala upazila in Satkhira district on Friday afternoon.
The accident took place at around 1.30pm in Trishmile area under the upazila.
Quoting locals, police said the accident occurred when a Satkhira-bound passenger bus collided head-on with a stone-laden truck in the area on Friday afternoon. At that time, the both vehicles overturned into a roadside ditch, leaving 40 people injured.
Being informed, firefifghters rescued the injured from the spot and sent to Sarkhira Medical College Hospital and Sadar Hospital, said Biplob Kumar Debnath, officer-in-charge of Patkelghata Police Station.
Among the injured, fiver people were in critical condition and the both vehicles involved in the accident were brought under the police custody, added the OC.
