Free textbooks distribution festival was held in all the academic institutions at Primary and Secondary levels including Madrashas of Natore district on Monday (January 1) in a befitting manner.
Abu Naser Bhuiyan, deputy commissioner (DC) of the district, inaugurated the book distribution programme handing over books to the students of the secondary level schools as the chief guest held on the premises of the Natore Government Girls High School of the town with principal of the school Abdul Matin in the chair.
Besides, the DC inaugurated the book distribution programme handing over books to the students of the primary level schools as the chief guest, held at Boro Harish Pur Model Government Primary School of the district town this morning around 11:30am.
Md Sahaduzzaman, district education officer, addressed the function as the special guest of both programme. He said 2,17,091 students will get 23,88,000 new books in 470 secondary level schools including dakhil, SSC vocational, dakhil vocational and ebtedayee levels in the district this year.
Md Golam Nabi, district primary education officer, said primary students will get 8,19,000 new books this year.
