Ticket sales for the newly introduced Porjotok Express train on the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route have begun. The operation of the train will commence on January 10.
The activities of selling advance tickets for the train started at 8:00 am on Wednesday. Tickets are now available for January 10, 11, 12, and 13 at ticket counters and online platforms.
Golam Rabbani, station master of Cox's Bazar Iconic Railway Station, said, "Bangladesh Railway provides tickets for intercity trains 10 days before the journey. As such, it has made tickets available for four days from January 10 to 13."
Several more trains will be added to the route (Dhaka-Cox's Bazar) in the future, he added.
The Porjotok Express train will leave Cox's Bazar at 8:00 pm and reach Chattogram Railway Station at 10:50 pm where it will take a 25-minute break. Then it will arrive at Dhaka Biman Bandar and Kamalapur Railway Stations at 3:50 am and 4:00 am respectively leaving Chattogram at 11:15 pm.
On the other hand, the train will again return to Cox's Bazar at 3:00 pm leaving Kamalapur at 6:15 am, Biman Bandar at 6:43 am and Chattogram at 11:40 am, taking 20 minutes of break at the latest station.
