At least eight people, including five members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), were injured after the pickup van carrying them collided with a bus in Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha district on Friday morning.
Quoting locals, Arju Sajjad, officer-in-charge of Palashbari Police Station, said that a Gaibandha-bound bus of ‘JR Paribahan’ collided head-on with the Palashbari-bound pickup van carrying the BGB members, who are on patrol duty before the election, in Ricemill area of the upazila around 11am, leaving eight people injured.
He said on information, the police and fire service personnel went to the spot, rescued the injured, and admitted them to the Palashbari Upazila Health Complex.
The the details identity of the injured could not known immediately.
Meanwhile, on Thursday four BGB members on patrol duty were injured as their vehicle met with an accident in Monpura upazila in Bhola.
