The arrestees are- M. Abul Kashem, 35, of Daspara village, Fazle Rabbi, 27, of Saharmor village and Alamgir Hossain, 30, resident of Karpasha village under Nikli Police Station of Kishoreganj district.

"On a tip off, a RAB-3 team conducted a raid at a house near Jurain Railway Gate adjacent slum area on Friday midnight and arrested three persons while they were making bombs. 30 cocktails, 28 petrol bombs and 6 tapes were seized from their possession at that time," RAB senior assistant director Md Arifur Rahman said at a press briefing this afternoon.

"During primary interrogation, the arrested persons confessed that a criminal group had planned a major sabotage in the capital to destabilize the law and order situation, as the 12th National Election is going to be held tomorrow. Their aim was to detonate cocktails and petrol bombs in various areas of the capital to create panic among the public," he added.
