The incident took place at Ramchandrady Govt Primary School Centre in the afternoon.
The center presiding officer Shaheen Alam confirmed the matter.

Current MP Nazrul Islam Babu from Awami League and Jatiya Party candidate Alamgir Sikder Loton are contesting in this seat.

It was known that when Loton went to the center in the afternoon, the supporters of boat gathered in the center and shouted slogans. At that time, the Jatiya Party supporters also started shouting slogans and the clash started between the two groups. Later, police brought the situation under control.

Loton said, ''When the people of boat occupied the center and started rigging, we tried to stop them and they attacked us. The police shot at us. Polling at the center was later suspended. 10 of us were shot.''
