Youth held after exploding bombs at Nganj polling station

NARAYANGANJ, Jan 7: Police arrested a young man for attempting to set fire to a polling station after exploding crude bombs in Fatullah of Narayanganj district on Saturday night.

The arrestee was identified as Shahin.

Nure Azam, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Model Police Station, said a group of miscreants stormed into the Eshayatus Sunnah Qawmi Madrasa in Narsinghpur around 10:30 pm and exploded some crude bombs.

Later, they tried to set the polling station on fire by pouring petrol.

Sensing danger, local people chased them and managed to catch one of them. They also handed him over to police.    —UNB
