Terming BNP a party of terrorists, Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said, "BNP is a party of terrorists and they never believe in election. BNP was formed by a military dictator and grabbed the state power. Poll rigging and ballot stuffing are their characters and now they are not getting this chance.

Thats why they have boycotted the polls."

While speaking to journalists after casting her ballot at Dhaka City College centre on Sunday morning, the Ruling partys president made the remark.

Earlier, the Prime Minister cast her vote at the Dhaka City College polling centre under Dhaka-10 constituency in the 12th parliamentary polls. She was accompanied by her daughter Saima Wazed and sister Sheikh Rehana.

Sheikh Hasina came to the polling centre around 8:00am and cast her vote at 8.03am on Sunday.

Dhallywood actor Ferdous Ahmed is contesting the polls on the Awami League ticket from the constituency.

Ferdous welcomed the Prime Minister at the polling centre.

The Prime Minister arrived at the polling centre with her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, daughter Saima Wazed and Sheikh Rehanas son Radwan Mujib Siddiq at 7:55am.

Responding to a question on the credibility of the election from a foreign journalist, the Prime Minister said, "I have to prove credibility to whom? Is it to a terrorist party? No. I have my accountability to the people.

Whether the people will accept it or not that is important to me."

She said her government has created a congenial atmosphere for voting defying all obstacles and anarchy created by BNP and Jamaat.

"No one can complain about the 2008 election and in that election, BNP got 30 seats only out of 300 seats whereas Awami League as a party got 233 seats. After that election, BNP is against the poll," the Awami League President said.

Expressing her hope that Boat will win in the 12th parliamentary polls, she said, "We are hopeful that Boat will win and we will able to form the government with peoples mandate. I have this faith in my countrys people."
