Four unidentified people have been killed in separate road accidents in two districts- Rajshahi and Sirajganj, on Monday and Tuesday.
RAJSHAHI: Two motorcycle riders were killed in a bus accident in the districts Puthia Upazila on Tuesday morning.
The accident took place about 10:30 am in Basupara Hossaintala area of the upazila.
The identities of the deceased could not be known. Inspector (Investigation) of Puthia Police Station (PS) Sujan Islam confirmed this information.
He said, a bus of MP Safari Paribahan from Taherpur was going to Rajshahi via Puthia. On the way, it ran over a motorcycle in that area.
The two motorcycle riders died on the spot, the PS inspector added.
SIRAJGANJ: Two people were killed in a road accident on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway in Tarash Upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.
The accident took place at about 3.15pm in Hamkuria area. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Hatikumrul Highway PS Sergeant Arbindu Sen said, the accident occurred when a battery-run van and shallow-engine run three wheeler (nosimon) collided head-on in the area, leaving the driver and its one female passenger dead on the spot.
Being informed, police recovered a body from the spot as another was taken by the family members. Police also seized the both vehicles from the scene. A legal action will be taken in this regard, the PS sergeant added.
