The authorities of Islamic University recovered a total of six cocktail-like objects in abandoned condition from different places on the campus in Kushtia early Friday.
Panic has spread in the campus due to the recovery of cocktail-like objects lying scattered.
A group of students found two cocktails kept at Lalon Shah Hall pocket gate and informed the university's proctorial body, IU proctor Professor M Shahadat Hossain Azad said, UNB reports.
On information, a team of IU proctorial body recovered the cocktails with the assistance of police and ansar members from the spot.
Later, four cocktails, a cocktail from adjacent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall area, two bombs from near Business Administration Faculty and another one from Jatirpita Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall area, were recovered.
A group of miscreants might have placed the cocktail-like substances on the campus creating chaos among the students of the university, the proctor said.
IU vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam said that nothing is known yet. 'We informed the police and they will look into the matter,' he said.
Kushtia additional superintendent of police (administration and media) Polash Kanti Nath said that they were looking into the matter. Action would be taken against those found involved in the incident, he added.
