Suspected thief killed in Bhola mob attack

BHOLA, Jan 12: A suspected cattle thief was killed in a lynch-mob attack in Borhanuddin Upazila of the district on Thursday
The deceased was identified as Alauddin Bepari, 45, a resident of Baro Manika Union in the upazila.

Local sources said the man was detained on suspicion of stealing a cow and beaten up by local people.

He was then rescued and admitted to Borhanuddin Upazila Health Complex, from where he was referred to Bhola Sadar Hospital following the deterioration of his condition. Later on, he died on the way to Barishal for better treatment on Thursday evening.

Borhanuddin Police Station Inspector Alauddin confirmed the incident, adding that legal action is underway in this regard.
