Activities will be seen in the field from Tuesday on the commodity price issue, said Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain.

He provided the information while briefing journalists at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday afternoon following the first meeting of the newly appointed cabinet at the Prime Minister's Office in the capital.
When attention was drawn to this matter - the prices of commodities were raised after formation of the new cabinet but there has been no visible action from the administration - Mahbub Hasan said, "Cabinet has made its first meeting today (Monday). There, clear instructions have been given from the Prime Minister (Sheikh Hasina). I hope you (journalists) will surely observe the activities from tomorrow (Tuesday)."

"Prime Minister has directed the ministers concerned to take every possible step to control commodity price and inflation. Especially, she has asked all of them to take measures so that commodity prices will remain in control and the supplies of the commodities remain available in the upcoming Holy Ramadan," the cabinet secretary added.
