5,024 killed in road accidents in 2023: BRTA

As many as 5,024 people were killed in 5,495 road accidents in 2023. Of them, 641 died in 483 road accidents n December.

BRTA's chairman Nur Mohammad Majumder came up with the information at a press briefing held at its office in Banani on Tuesday.

In December, most of the accidents occurred in Dhaka. Total 88 people died in Dhaka division, 79 in Chattogram, 63 in Rajshahi, 49 in Khulna, 28 in Barishal, 24 in Sylhet, 54 in Rangpur and 48 in Mymensing.
Many of them died in motorcycle accidents.
