CHATTOGRAM, Jan 19: Gas supply in Chattogram has been suspended since Thursday night.
The critical situation with regard to gas supply in Chattogram developed due to technical faults with the LNG terminal in Moheskhali.
According to Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) sources it could take one or two days to resume supply.
The gas crisis has been continuing in Chattogram since October.
Since then the people in the port city have been suffering.
According to RPGCL (Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Limited) sources, the production of LNG in two floating plants has declined to 500 million cubic feet per day due to technical problems in one of two Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRU) since October 20.
