Ferry services resumed around 9am as the dense fog subsided.

The ferry services on the Shariatpur-Chandpur river route resumed after 9.30 hours of suspension for poor visibility due to dense fog in the Jamuna River on Tuesday.

Bangladesh Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Narsingh Ghat sources confirmed the information.

BIWTC Narsingh Ghat Manager Mohammad Iqbal Hossain said the ferry movement was suspended from 12am midnight to 9am on Tuesday due to poor visibility for the dense fog.

During this period, all kinds of engine driven and other boats were suspended, he said.

Later, the authority resumed the ferry services after the fog subsided around 9am on Tuesday, he added.
