Mirza Abbas Graft Case

Court reopens matter for further arguments

A Dhaka court scheduled to deliver verdict in a graft case against BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbasa on Tuesday, reopened the matter for arguments and ordered that it will hear the arguments beginning today.
Judge Manjurul Imam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-6 gave the order after he found that some complex legal issues, including incidental and factual issues need to be addressed
According to the case documents, Mirza Abbas allegedly concealed information about illegally earned wealth worth Tk7.54 crore.
ACC Deputy Director Md Shafiul Alam filed the case at Ramna Police Station on August 16 in 2007.
On May 24, 2008, ACC Deputy Director Md Khairul Huda submitted the charge sheet against Mirza Abbas.
During the trial,  24 people testified against Mirza Abbas.
