Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested three members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and seized 22 firearms, four mines, ammunition from deep forest adjacent to Rohingya camp in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar early Thursday
The arrestees are – Md Osman, Imam Hosen and Nesar Hosen.
RAB-15 commander HM Sajjad Hossain informed this at press conference at the ARSA den on Thursday.
The official said acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at the deep forest in the hilly area of Ukhiya and arrested the ARSA men and seized arms and ammo.
He said law enforcers have recently strengthened security measures and conducted operations at the Rohingya camps against the terrorists.
So the armed groups took shelters at the forests and conducted their operations, he said, adding that the terrorist group were planning to carry out sabotage activities at the camps.
