Illegal brick kiln closed in Rangamati, fined Tk 65,000

A mobile court in Rangamati closed an illegal brick kiln at Kaptai upazia and fined its owner Tk 65,000 as it affected nearby ecosystems and forest resources.

The mobile court, led by Kaptai upazia nirbahi officer and executive magistrate Md Mohiuddin, conducted a raid at Bhalukia Brick Kiln in Raikhali area and fixed the punishment.
UNO Mohiuddin said, "The brick kiln did not have any legal documents. Besides, it became threatening to the ecosystems and forest resources. We then closed the brick kiln and fined its owner."

Earlier, the brick kiln was closed in the last year in a raid conducted by the upazila administration. It was again opened secretly. On information, the mobile court raided there and set at a signboard after fixing the punishment.
