As the construction works of the country's first underground metro rail on Airport Road began on Monday morning, huge traffic congestion may be created on that road.

So, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) authorities requested commuters of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to set out with sufficient time on hand.

Metro rail authorities are set to move utility lines from the airport to Khilkhet area to facilitate the construction of the Mass Rapid Transit Line-1 (MRT Line-1).
The airport authorities asked the passengers to reach the airport four hours before the flight.

Public and vehicles plying on the corridor are requested to set out with enough time and, if necessary, to use alternative routes.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the construction work of the country's first-ever underground metro rail on February 2, 2023.
