DSE ends mixed, CSE edges down

Stocks performed mixed on Wednesday with major indices finishing flat.

The benchmark index of the Dhaka bourse closed the day with 3.12 points up at 6,153.34. But, the Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 closed the day with 2.44 points down at 1,351.96 and with 7.16 points down at 2,103.93.

Out of 393 issues traded, 207 closed lower, 145 advanced and 41 issues remained unchanged on the DSE floor.

The major gaining issues were 1STPRIMFMF, FARCHEM, SICL, KPPL and AFTABAUTO. The major losing companies were GSPFINANCE, JMISMDL, BD Finance, KAY&QUE and Imam Button.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with slightly downward trend with its major CASPI 14.81 points down at 17,427.99.

At CSE, 258 issues were traded. Of those, 91 closed higher and 129 closed lower when 73.67 lakh shares worth Taka 14.78 crore changed hands.    —BSS
