Mongolian Envoy, FBCCI Prez discuss trade, manpower export

Mongolian Ambassador to Bangladesh Ganbold Dambajav met FBCCI President Mahbub Alam on Wednesday at its Gulshan office in the city and showed interest to bolter trade and economic ties between the two countries.

Particularly, he said Bangladesh could serve as a potential market for exporting skilled manpower to meet its growing labor market needs and source raw materials for garment industry.

The FBCCI President highlighted potential sectors for collaboration between Bangladesh and Mongolia, emphasizing the global recognition of Bangladeshi products such as ready-made garments, jute and leather products, footwear, medicines, plastic goods, textiles, ceramic products, light engineering, and electronic products.

President Mahbubul Alam said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken various initiatives to attract foreign investors, including establishment of 100 special economic zones, tax exemptions for foreign investors, and one-stop services to create a favorable environment for foreign investment. He invited Mongolian investors to explore the potential sectors of Bangladesh.
The Mongolia Ambassador Ganbold Dambajav expressed interest in taking skilled manpower from Bangladesh for agriculture, ready-made garments, and construction sectors. He said Mongolia has ample land for cultivation despite its small population and Bangladesh could exploit.

He said Bangladeshi can export garments and expressed interest in collaborating with the tourism sector. He also invited the Bangladeshi businessmen to explore other business opportunities in Mongolia.

Among others, FBCCI Director Kausar Ahmed, FBCCI International Wing Consultant Mosud Mannan ndc, and others were present at the program.
