Pitha festival held in two districts

Winter Pitha festival was held in two districts- Panchagarh and Sirajganj, - on Wednesday and Thursday.   

PANCHAGARH: A three-day long National Pitha and Folk Culture Festival started on Wednesday in the district.
Panchagarh Shipakala Academy organized the festival on its premises in collaboration with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Riazuddin inaugurated the programme.

Abu Toibur Rahman, general secretary of the District Shilpakala Academy, made the welcome speech.  Women entrepreneurs displayed beautiful pithas at the   festival.
Later on, a folk cultural program was performed by various cultural organizations in Panchagarh and the artists of the District Shilpakala Academy.
BELKUCHI, SIRAJGANJ: A winter pitha festival was held on Thursday in the districts Belkuchi Upazila with the trainees of women IT service provider.
The festival was organized in the afternoon in the upazila auditorium under the theme  Empowerment of Women through Technology. It was arranged by the upazila administration in collaboration with Graphics Aid (JV).
Belkuchi Upazila Nirbahi Officer Afia Sultana Keya presided over the festival.
Among others, Upazila Women Vice-Chairman Ratna Begum, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shibani Sarkar, Belkuchi Press Club President Gazi Saidur Rahman, Upazila Primary Education Officer Mostafizur Rahman, Upazila Election Officer Mohammad Raihan Quddus, Upazila ICT Graphics Programmer Iman Ali, and Trainer Suchitra Sarkar were present at the festival.

About 80 types of pithas were exhibited at the festival.
