Two people including a woman were murdered in separate incidents in two districts- Gopalganj and Nilphamari, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

GOPALGANJ: A beautician was reportedly stabbed to death by miscreants in Muksudpur Upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.
The killing took place at around 12 pm in front of Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex.
The deceased was identified as Parvin Munni, 40, daughter of Lokman Dhorani, a resident of Lohair Village under Moharajpur Union in the upazila. She worked at Womens World beauty parlour in the area.

Quoting locals, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Muksudpur Police Station (PS) Mohammad Ashraful Alam said a group of miscreants stabbed Parvin indiscriminately with a sharp knife when she went in front of the gate of Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex at noon to hang out some clothes of the parlour to dry, which left her injured.

She was then rescued by locals and rushed to the adjacent upazila health complex, where the on-duty doctor declared the woman dead.

No one has been made arrested in this regard yet and efforts are going on to nab the involved persons, the OC added.

According to locals, there had been loggerheads between two groups of Kachidul and Mominur over the ownership of a land. As a sequel to it, the both groups locked into a fight at around 10 am on Monday, which left 10 people from both groups critically injured.

The injured were taken to Jaldhaka Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor referred several of them including Aminur Rahman to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
