Jatiya Party (JaPa) secretary general Md Mujibul Huq Chunnu

Opposition chief whip in Jatiya Sangsad and Jatiya Party (JaPa) secretary general Md Mujibul Huq Chunnu on Saturday (February 3) said they would demonstrate in parliament what is called the 'opposition.'

"We'll do whatever we can do to draw attention of the government to its mistakes. We'll criticise the government in parliament with courage. We'll talk about people in parliament," he said while speaking at a reception held at the party's Banani office in the capital on Saturday.
According to Chunnu, no matter whoever hurls abusive languages, Golam Mohammad Quader is now the leader of the opposition. Many term Jatiya Party as the domestic opposition party because once it joined the Awami League led 'Grand Alliance.' "But, we have to keep relation with all if we want to do politics. JaPa has never served the purpose of any individual or party. We have always criticised the government."

The JaPa secretary general also said those who are not the members of the party and those who have been relieved from the party, they go to the central office to place flowers and hold press conference there. "In fact, those who were relieved from the party, they went to the central office to make news about themselves. In reality, it was not an occupation. They fled after going there like thieves. A party is like a running train. JaPa's driver is alright, but sometime bad passengers also get on board the train and they need to be excluded.
