EC Habib stresses importance of NIDs for citizen services

KHULNA, Feb 4: Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd) Md Ahsan Habib Khan underscored the need for a smart identification card (NID) to provide citizen services.

"Necessary digital information of the countrys citizens would be preserved on the smart NID. It will be needed by each citizen for any services from birth to death, and information about the concerned citizen can be accessed from the NID," he said today while inaugurating the smart NID distribution activities at Fultala Reunion Model School and College Auditorium in Khulna.
