5 primary schools closed in Bandarban

Five government primary schools in Naikhangchhari upazila of Bandarban district have been declared closed amid the ongoing firing in Myanmar.
 
The Primary and Mass Education Ministry issued a notice, signed by its deputy secretary Akterunnahar, in this regard on Monday.

It said the government took the decision considering the safety of the teachers and students of those schools in Ghumdum union.

The schools are—Baishpari Government Primary School, Bhajbunia Government Primary School, Tambru Government Primary School, Paschimkul Tambru Government Primary School and Dakkhin Ghumdum Government Primary School.

The mentioned that schools along the border will remain closed until further orders.
If the local situation improves, the District Primary Education Officer, Bandarban Hill District will take necessary measures to open the schools including resumption of academic activities in the mentioned schools in consultation with the higher authorities, it added.
