Countrys both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also witnessed an upward trend on Tuesday like earlier as investors continued their buying spree on large-cap issues amid optimism.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 23.46 points or 0.37 per cent to settle at 6346.06. The DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 10.46 points to finish at 2143.71 and 8.60 points closing at 1,385.24.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, decreased to Taka 16,518.30 million on the countrys premier bourse which was Taka 16,547.83 million.
Out of 396 issues traded, 148 closed green, 214 in the red and 34 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended higher with the CSE All Share Price Index - CASPI -advancing 70.41 points to settle at 18,102.65 and the Selective Categories Index - CSCX gaining 41.56 points to close at 10,836.29.
Of the issues traded, 136 advanced, 132 declined and 37 remained unchanged on the CSE.
The port citys bourse traded 1.11 crore shares and mutual fund units with a turnover value of Taka 23.33 crore. —BSS
