Mercantile Bank holds Customer Service, Complaint Mgmt course

Mercantile Bank organized a day long training course titled "Customer Service and Complaint Management" at its Training Institute in Dhaka recently, says a press release.

GB In-charges of 40 branches participated the training. Dr Tapash Chandra Paul, CFO of the bank, inaugurated the training and conducted a session.

In his address Dr. Tapash reminded the participants on the importance of banker-customer relationship and its effectiveness. He strongly emphasized on substituting High Cost deposit with Low Cost and No Cost deposit along with cross selling of scheme deposit products of the bank.

The rest of the sessions were conducted by Sheikh Mohammad Soyeb Hasan, AVP, Operations Division and Shahin Akhter, faculty of MBTI. Javed Tariq, Principal of MBTI, moderatd the programme.

Countrys first safe food carnival starts from Feb 8
Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) is going to organise Safe Food Carnival 2024 for the first time from February 8.

A press conference was held in the head office of BFSA on Tuesday to share details of the event. Chairman of BFSA, Md Abdul Kayowm Sarkar, shared the details.

The three day carnival will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center at Dhakas Agargaon to raise awareness about the importance of safe and hygienic food practices, bringing together industry experts.

Abdul Kayowm said that Bangladesh Safe Food Authority has been thinking of organising such an event for several years with the aim of informing the public about the safety practices maintained by various establishments in food production, processing and export and to increase coordination among institutions. From that perspective, it has decided to organise the Safe Food Carnival.

He said their monitoring activity will be beefed up during Ramadan to ensure food safety.

A total of 70 stalls will be set up at the carnival to showcase various food items.

Members of BFSA Nazma Begum and Mohammad Shoeb, secretary Abdun Naser Khan were also present at the meeting.    —UNB
