Ijtema devotee killed being hit by bus in Uttara

A Ijtema devotee was killed and two others were injured after being hit by a speeding bus in Uttara's Abdullahpur area in the capital early Thursday.

The deceased was Abul Kashem, 60.
Injured Raju, 40, and Milon Majhi, 60, were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Ripon, a relative of the deceased, said, "We were going to Ijtema ground in Tongi from Laxmipur's Ramgati by a bus. At 5am, we got down from the bus near Abdullahpur fish market. Suddenly, a speeding bus hit the three people while crossing the road in the area. Then they injured critically.

They were taken to DMCH where Abul Kashem was declared dead by the on-duty doctors.

Mentionable, the second phase of three-day Bishwa Ijtema will begin on the bank of river Turag on Friday (February 9).
