Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities cannot evade responsibility of the recent incident of gang rape of a woman captivating her husband at the campus.
"There are records of drug-related and rape incidents inside the campus. The authorities will have to be taken the responsibility of outsiders entrance inside the campus."
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin said these on Thursday responding to a question of reporters.
He said "The recent rape incident at the Jahangirnagar University is very alarming according to the information given by the arrested. The authorities should be more strict from now. Because we knew that there occurs various illegal incidents. If the authorities contact with us, we will help them definitely."
At night on February 3, a woman was gang raped at a forest adjacent to the campus holding her husband captive at Mir Mosharraf Hall of the university.
Four people, including a BCL leader, have been arrested over the incident. They are Mustafizur Rahman Khan, a student of the 45th batch of International Relations Department and international affairs secretary of BCL, JU unit, Mostafa Monwar alias Sagar Siddique, Hasanuzzaman, students of International Relations Department and Sabbir Hossain, a student of Botany Department, for helping the prime accused to escape.
