Five people were killed and three others critically injured in a head-on collision between a truck and an easybike at Dumuria upazila in Khulna district on Saturday.
The accident took place around 3:30 pm on the Khulna-Satkhira highway in Angardoha Kalvert area.
The deceased were identified as Sabbir Morol, 23, Biswajib Bishwas, 30, and Nipa Dhali, 25, Amori Rain Dhali, 55, and Onni Bishwas, 4.
Dumuria Police Station officer-in-charge Sukanto Saha, "Two died on the spot and five others were critically injured after a truck and an easybike collided head-on on the highway. Three others succumbed to their injuries on the way to Khulna Medical College Hospital."
"The injured are undergoing treatment there. Meanwhile, the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy," the OC added.
