Environment-friendly microenterprise concludes in city

The three-day-long Shuponno Somahar: Environment-friendly Microenterprise Fair 2024, under the Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP) of PKSF concluded at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC), Dhaka on Saturday.

The fair was inaugurated and presided over by by PKSF Chairman Dr. M. Khairul Hossain on Thursday. Dr. Nomita Halder ndc, Managing Director of PKSF, delivered the welcome speech on the inaugural ceremony while Md. Fazlul Kader, Additional Managing Director of PKSF, discussed the context of the fair.

S M Ferdous Alam, Director General of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI), delivered a special speech on Governments Support in Microenterprise Sector.

Dr. M. Khairul Hossain, in his inaugural speech, said, "PKSF has addressed the need of multidimensional poverty alleviation. It is implementing various programs and projects across the country through its Partner Organizations by providing financial and technical support."

In her welcome speech, Dr. Nomita Halder ndc said, "PKSF promotes best environmental practices in its all activities." She added that the SEP had helped the microenterprises to produce all the products in an environment-friendly manner.
 
Md. Fazlul Kader said, "PKSF is working to change the condition of the low-income people by creating a conducive environment. It is also promoting and developing brands of the environmentally sustainable microenterprises."

S M Ferdous Alam said that micro-entrepreneurs have to take stand to improve the society because they are the future industrialists who will create thousands of jobs."

The Sustainable Enterprise Project is jointly funded by the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and the World Bank. The objective of this project is to increase the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices among designated microenterprises.

The Project provided financial and technical supports to over 65 thousand microenterprises across 37 districts of the country through its 64 sub-projects implemented by 47 Partner Organizations of PKSF.

PKSF has been implementing the Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP) since 2018 to support the production and marketing of high-quality value-added products by adopting environmental best practices in the microenterprise sector of the country.

The Fair is organized to promote the marketing of the mentioned products produced by the Project-supported micro-entrepreneurs.
