BNP leaders Altaf, Alal get bail

BNPs Vice Chairman Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and its Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal were granted bail in two separate cases filed over BNP-police clash on October 28 last year.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sultan Shohag Uddin on Sunday passed the bail order in the cases filed with Ramna  Police Station.

However, the court also rejected the bail prayer of   Altaf Hossain in a case filed over the vandalism of the Chief Justices residence during the BNP-police clash on October 28.
Earlier, the same court  showed them arrested in the three separate cases. As Altaf Hossain is sick, he joined the hearing virtually from jail.

Four cases were filed with Ramna Police Station against Altaf Hossain centring last years October 28 rally organised by the BNP.
