DU students for punishment of teacher over 'sexual harassment'

A group of students of Dhaka University on Monday staged protests in front of the VC residence for the second day demanding the punishment of their teacher over the allegations of sexual harassment and mental abuse against him.

In addition, they, the students of Mass Communication and Journalism department, called for three-point demands over the allegations against Professor Naadir Junaid, a teacher of the department, after they locked their classrooms boycotting all academic activities and hold a seat-in programme at their department.

The three-point demands are:
1. Immediately forming a probe body to investigate the allegation against Professor Naadir Junaid of sexual harassment.

2. Bring the "sexual oppressor" under punishment as early as possible.

3. Keeping him out of all academic activities during the investigation or until the disposal of the allegations.
