The ways we can respect our mother tongue

The language we learn from our mother at the time of our childhood is called mother tongue. The reason for respecting the mother tongue is only for the mother. The manner of speaking is considered the symbol of the character, no mother wants to be the reason for the bad language she taught. While learning a language from our childhood, our mother expects that we will use the language in the most artistic ways. But it is a matter of regret that we disrespect our mother by abusing the language she taught.

The range of abusive language is from the friend circle to the government. We can mention some of the abusive of our mother tongue. Indecent talk among friends and common senseless talk is also included here. We can also check the use or abuse of our mother tongue of ourselves. On one side, the use of artistic language can make us successful in various sectors, on another side it could be the reason for failure in various sectors in life.

Another important thing in respecting our own language is respecting every language. We can show gratitude to our mother tongue by showing gratitude to all the registered or unregistered languages in a territory. Every country has several dialects and a minority of the people speak through those dialects. Though those are not the official languages, everybody should respect those dialects because those dialects are also the mother tongue of the minority. So the reason for respecting those dialects are same as the official language of the country. Every language should be treated respectfully which should be the main theme of Language Day. Besides everyone has the right to talk in his mother language and no one can prevent it.

Upholding our voice against the violence attached to our society is considering the proper use of our mother tongue. If we raise our voices and use our mother tongue against social violence, irregularity, and dishonesty, we can also protect the motherland using our mother tongue. If we don use our language to protect it will mean that we don respect our mother tongue, and we won learn what may have been taught to us. Delivering the right speech at the right time and place is also called the honor of the language.

The women are experiencing the abuse of the mother tongue mostly. In the family, The male uses slang language to the women. Teasing a girl on the road has become a common phenomenon. Rude talk is also considered as the misuse of language. These are the most vital issues of abusing language. We should raise our voices to support our women. If we don raise our voices holding our mothers and sisters safety and security, we can dignify our mother language. Since we learn the language from our mother, we have to uphold their right and protect them from abuse by raising voices to support them in society. We should raise voices in every sector of life to ensure their safety and security.

Our politicians are also misusing their mother language. Their lecture delivered in different seminars, and meetings are also mentionable the example of abusing their tongue sometimes. They give fake promises to the people before the election as well. They don keep their oath and sometimes they provide false information to the people to escape from the accountability. Providing correct information and keeping the preelection oath should also be considered as the respect of the mother tongue.

We also abuse our mother tongue by condemning and criticizing anyone in a wrong way.  We disrespect anyone by using slang language. We should provide good advice to others and wishing the welfare of all kinds of people which will be very effective in the case of tribute to our mother tongue.

Its a harsh reality that February is the only month when we remember the importance and significance of our mother tongue orienting the celebration of 21 February as International Mother Language Day. But we are not aware of the actual message of this day at all. The person who respecting of this day doesn indicate his or her proper use of the Mother language. It only depends on our positive mentality and our awareness about it.

We can think of those different points of view in respecting our mother language not only for a month but also a whole year. This will be the actual tribute to our language martyrs for their ultimate sacrifice for the right of their mother tongue. We should think in different ways skipping the as usual concept relating to celebrating Mother Language Day. So everyone should remember the ways also we can respect and tribute to the language martyrs, the heroes who sacrificed their lives for our mother tongue.
