EC declares valid all nomination forms submitted for womens reserved seats

The Election Commission (EC) on Monday declared as valid all the 50 nomination papers submitted for the seats reserved for women.

EC Joint Secretary Moniruzzaman Talukder announced the decision.
He said, "I received 50 nomination papers. We  declared all of them valid."

Ruling Awami League (AL)  had submitted 48 nomination papers and Jatiya Party submitted two.
The election in the reserved seats will be held on March 14.   

At least, 1,549 aspirants, thats 32 for each seat had sought AL nomination.

On February 6, AL sold each nomination form for Tk50,000.

On February 8, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader said at a news  conference that the ruling party Tk77,450,000 by selling nomination forms.
