Two family members killed in Rajbari road crash

A man and his daughter-in-law were killed after a bus hit an auto-rickshaw at Sadar upazila in Rajbari district on Saturday.

The accident took place on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway in Bagmara area in the afternoon.
Deceased Jabed Ali, 65, hailed from Kalukhali upazila in the upazila, and his daughter-in-law Khaleda Akter, 35.

Police said a bus of Rabeya Paribahan hit a battery-run auto-rickshaw from the opposite direction, leaving Khaleda dead on the spot and three others injured.

The injured were rescued and taken to Rajbari Sadar Hospital where Jabed Ali was referred to Faridpur Bangabandhu Medical College Hospital. He died around 4:00 pm while undergoing treatment there.

Pangsha Highway Police Station sub-inspector Utpal Kumar said  police were on action to detain the bus.
