Hili land port shut for Shab-e-Barat

Import-export operations between India and Bangladesh through Hili Land Port in Dinajpur district are closed due to the public holiday on the occasion of the Holy Shab-e-Barat.

However, cross-border travel was open through the immigration checkpost of the land port.
Bangla Hilli C&F Agents Association General Secretary Jamil Hossain Chalanta confirmed the matter on Monday morning.

He said, "Due to the public holiday on the occasion of the Holy Shab-e-Barat, the import and export through the port is closed today. After the holiday, import-export will resume from Tuesday morning.''

Sheikh Ashraful, the person in charge of immigration at the port, said: “The immigration process is running as usual. Passport holders can travel daily from 9am to 6:30pm.
