Programme to let diplomats know uplift activities

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized an outreach programme on Tuesday for foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka to let them know more about Bangladesh and its progress on ground level.

"Through knowing Bangladesh, they will convey this message to their respective countries. And they will spread these stories of Bangladesh to the world," Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud said while talking with the reporters at Chattogram and Coxs Bazar.

Diplomats stationed in Dhaka and representatives from the international community are visiting Chattogram and Coxs Bazar with the Foreign Minister under the Ambassadors Outreach Programme.

"To see the development on ground level they have been brought to Chattogram  and Coxs Bazar by train from Chattogram," he added.

Diplomats from the European Union, Russia, China, South Korea, Italy, Denmark, Kosovo, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Vatican, Bhutan, Spain, Argentina, Libya, Singapore, Australia, Egypt, and France were part of the group.

Minister Hasan said that through this visit, the diplomats are getting to know Bangladesh and its capabilities better as well as the development activities under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.  

The diplomats visited the Bangabandhu Tunnel under the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram on Tuesday morning.

Diplomats were welcomed by ethnic dance of a Rakhaine group and joined photo shooting at the Iconic Coxs Bazar railway station, according to our Coxs Bazar correspondent.
