BRUSSELS, Feb 28:  NATO has no plans to send military personnel to Ukraine, Secretary General of the alliance Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview with the Associated Press.

"NATO allies are providing unprecedented support to Ukraine. We have done that since 2014 and stepped up [support] after the full-scale invasion. But there are no plans for NATO combat troops on the ground in Ukraine," he said.

On February 26, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that a number of EU and NATO members are considering sending their military troops to Ukraine on the basis of bilateral agreements with Kiev.

Following this, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk indicated that they did not intend to do so. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson admitted that Sweden did not have such plans.    —TASS
